As the driver was passing through, they stumbled upon Violet and some other pooches who were tied up with thick metal ropes. These chains not only restricted their movement but also hurt them badly.
Violet, who was approximately two years old at the time, had been living her entire life in chains when she was discovered by Angela Stell, the founder and director of NMDOG. She was among six other dogs found on a New Mexico property where keeping dogs restrained without human supervision is prohibited.
The county sheriff’s department was dispatched by the authorities to locate the owners of the dogs, but it appeared that they had abandoned them. NMDOG stepped in to care for all the dogs, including Violet, and initiated the task of rehabilitating them.
Stell reported that Violet is experiencing some anxiety and astonishment from her new surroundings. Her past behavior may have led to some mistreatment, but she is currently receiving proper attention and is on the path to emotional healing. After her complete rehabilitation, she will be all set for adoption into a warm and comforting home.
